Coaches PH | JobKorea, Korea’s Largest Recruitment Platform, Invested in by SEEK | (via (ACN Newswire) | SEEK Limited (SEEK), an Australian-listed tech business that controls two of Southeast Asia’s most popular online job boards, JobStreet and JobsDB, today announced a USD48 million investment in JobKorea, Korea’s largest online job board. SEEK will own a 10% investment in JobKorea, and Peter Bithos, the CEO of SEEK Asia, will join the board of directors.
Peter had this to say about the investment: “This collaboration is beneficial not just to SEEK and JobKorea, but also to all Asian job searchers and businesses. With JobKorea, Korea’s premier employment marketplace, we can now reach an extra 25 million job searchers and 5 million employers in one of the world’s most populous economies.””We look forward to assisting JobKorea with our market-leading insights into big data, how to harness AI, and our commercial and technical experience developing the best jobs and career markets across APAC,” he said. “We also hope to learn from JobKorea as it builds on its leadership position in one of Asia’s most dynamic and sophisticated markets.”
SEEK will be able to add value to JobKorea’s market-leading position as a result of this investment, while focusing on its operations and accelerating the transformation and growth of its current Asia companies. SEEK’s digital teams continue to make significant progress in developing AI-driven products and solutions, which, when paired with SEEK’s deep local expertise and resources in each region, sets it apart from other worldwide players.
SEEK’s professional management team and extensive knowledge in administering global online job and human capital management platforms would benefit JobKorea through this relationship.
JobKorea’s CEO, Yoon Byung-joon, stated “We are thrilled to be working with SEEK, a company with extensive experience in the worldwide online job market. We believe that this partnership will allow JobKorea to take a quantum leap forward in its development. JobKorea will evolve into a worldwide HR platform that connects the Korean employment marketplace internationally, as competition for skilled people such as good managers, developers, or tech specialists becomes increasingly fierce.”
Affinity Equity Partners (AEP), a leading worldwide private equity player and Korea’s largest, owns the remaining 90% of JobKorea. In May 2021, AEP bought 100% of JobKorea.
